People have been at it forever…

Having lived my life in several large cities, I cannot recall a time when ambient media did not exist. Although the term may only have recently been coined, people have been using its techniques for as long as one person wanted to sell a product to another person. Major non-TV media buying ad campaigns are plentiful. Think of the last time you picked up a dozen eggs at the local grocery store. Chances are, some company had purchased some space and printed its message on that carton. Or, what about the little surprise messages you pull out of the golf holes at the golf course. Ever had to park your car in a garage? Check the back – that’s ambient media. Small companies to large, ambient media provides a direct to consumer, inexpensive way to get your message in the eyes, ears, and hands of your potential customers. The latest trend in ambient media can be seen at your local gas station. I recently got a weather report, was updated on the latest sport scores, and was enticed to visit a local car dealer who is carrying a much more economic car than the one that I was driving. All of this ambient media was delivered via satellite fed televisions on top of the gas pumps! From the backs of parking tickets, to the tops of cabs, to T.V.s at the gas station, ambient media through companies like Buy Now Media is destined to continue to grow.
